Time Opportunities
If you've decided that your next step is to enter the workforce
on a permanent basis then the printing & graphic communications
industry has great options for you on a full time basis.
Perhaps you want to get into full time work and receive some
solid training, but you still want the option of changing
direction down the track if what you've chosen isn't for you.
In this case we would recommend a traineeship in one of several
areas in the printing & graphic communications industry.
You can choose from print design, small offset printing, production
support, screen printing and others. A traineeship usually
runs for 12 months after which you will qualify for a Certificate
II in Printing & Graphic Arts, a qualification that is
recognised around Australia. If you hold a Certificate II
and demonstrate a good work ethic you will become highly sought
after by businesses looking for the right people to take up
apprenticeships leading to a well paid and secure career.
If you are confident that a career in the printing &
graphic communications industry is for you we suggest applying
for an apprenticeship in either pre-press,
printing, print
finishing or screen printing.
Apprenticeships in our industry include in-depth on-the-job
and off-the-job training (at TAFE). When our apprentices finish
their time they come into the industry as some of the highest
paid and secure tradespeople in the country. A worldwide demand
for trained people in the printing & graphic communications
industry ensures opportunities will always be there either
at home or overseas.
