| School Based Traineeships
Imagine having a part-time job in the third-biggest manufacturing
industry in Australia - while you're still at school and being
trained and being paid!
The printing & graphic communications industry offers
School-based traineeships to students who want to make a start
on their careers while they're still at school. You'll learn
about the industry that produces everything that's designed
and printed from books to brochures to T-shirts to chip packages
to posters.
School-based traineeships can be set up in many different ways but are usually arranged in partnership with your school, your family and your employer. You will usually be with your new workplace for one day a week, at TAFE for a half day a week and at school finishing Years 11 and 12 the rest of the time.
When you finish Year 12 you will have your senior school
certificate as well as a Certificate II in Printing &
Graphic Arts (General) - and be ready to start sorting through
the offers for careers in our industry.
